Local-experience disclosures: twenty source-linked tours

Dataset Last checked 25 October 2026

Use this ledger to compare what twenty local-experience pages disclose before you check the provider’s current offer. It records published duration, format, inclusions and logistics, with exact source links and explicit unknowns. The rows describe source material, not tour quality, available departures or personal suitability.

Compare the same fields

The edition contains four experiences from each of five publishers: Foods of NY Tours, Like A Local Tours, ExperienceFirst, Context Travel and SF City Guides. Sixteen are in New York City and four in San Francisco. This is a deliberately bounded comparison, not an inventory of either city and not a list of recommended operators.

The table below is a compact view. Download the canonical JSON for all twenty fields and the source attached to each factual cell, or the CSV for a flat table. Read the method for field definitions. The finder uses these records to narrow the directory without choosing a winner.

All rows were observed on 25 October 2026. Current availability not checked. Unknown means the value was not established in the reviewed public material; it does not mean the feature is absent.

Read a number with its scope

Published duration is the provider’s description of its product, not a measured walk. A range stays a range. Sorting a ninety-to-one-hundred-and-twenty-minute listing does not tell you which end of that range a particular departure will reach. Use it to narrow a search, then confirm the time commitment with the provider.

Group information needs the same care. SF City Guides’ rule for parties of seven or more concerns the arrangement for that party, not the maximum size of a public tour2. The ledger therefore leaves its group-cap field unknown. Likewise, a company’s general small-group policy is not assigned to a product whose offered format was not established. This keeps a missing product detail visible instead of filling it with a nearby company claim.

Keep contradictory information visible

Private Williamsburg Bites gives one-and-a-half miles in its product details and two miles in its embedded FAQ3. The distance field retains both statements and does not select one as current. Context’s Little Italy page mentions tastings in a weather answer while its standard inclusion section excludes food4. That food field is also unresolved. Ask the provider about the exact product rather than treating the more attractive statement as the answer.

Meeting-point precision is another separate field. An area or crossroads can help identify the part of the city, but it is not a substitute for the final instructions sent for your booking. The ledger records how precise the public description is. It does not invent a map pin or route from an approximate location.

Use the observations for questions, not guarantees

Walking-distance statements, stairs markers and publisher access claims are preserved only within their stated scope. They do not establish a person’s ability to complete a route. Food-inclusion notes likewise say nothing about allergy safety. Use the original source to ask about your requirements and confirm current arrangements.
