Tour booking terms: twenty booking surfaces

Dataset Last checked 25 October 2026

A tour’s cancellation policy belongs to the booking channel and the selected product, not just the operator’s name. This index separates twenty public booking surfaces so you can find the stated cutoff, fee exceptions and change route before checking the terms of the particular tour you want.

Read the scope before the deadline

Start with the scope column. A provider can publish different conditions for public tours, private groups, attraction tickets and custom itineraries. The same organisation may also sell through a marketplace whose booking process and published terms differ. Comparing only a number of hours would hide those distinctions.

The table is a compact view of the edition dated 25 October 2026. Each row links to the public page used. “Unknown” means that the inspected source did not establish the field. It does not mean that the provider has no rule, no fee or no support process. Confirm the selected product’s current terms with the provider before paying.

WalksDevour’s cancellation policy, updated June 2026, excludes named nonrefundable tours, including Secrets of the Uffizi. Free amendments need more than 24 hours, or seven days for Colosseum, St Mark’s or St Peter’s tours; private, large-group and nonrefundable bookings cannot be amended13.

What the files contain

The JSON file is the complete record: sixteen fields per surface, including the time basis, grace period, host cancellation, substitution, rescheduling, no-show, refund method, refund timing and cancellation channel. Every factual field has its own source link and observation date. The CSV file makes the same evidence convenient to inspect in a spreadsheet; formula-leading text is protected for that format.

This is an evidence index rather than a refund calculator. It does not take a booking reference, calculate your deadline or decide which clause governs a dispute. A reader who already holds a reservation should use the product, voucher and confirmation associated with that reservation, then follow the booking channel’s stated change process. The table can help locate that process; it cannot replace those documents.

Three differences that matter

First, a refund percentage may leave out part of the amount paid. Context’s standard-tour policy separates ticket, reservation and applicable service fees from its refund bands; refunds can take up to sixty days from cancellation5. Read the excluded-charge field before treating a percentage as a refund of the whole purchase. A service with a longer notice period may still have different cost treatment from another service.

Second, an option bought with the ticket can change the comparison. Foods of NY describes different choices with and without Trip Protection17. The record keeps that branch visible. It does not assume the option was purchased, apply its conditions to an ordinary ticket or recommend buying an add-on.

Third, a source can disagree with itself. Foods of NY’s FAQ gives a 48-hour change or credit window without Trip Protection, while a separate rescheduling paragraph says 72 hours17. The full record keeps both observations and labels the field as a conflict. Check the terms for your booking instead of choosing whichever sentence is more convenient.

Klook’s refund page excludes used promo-code returns except eligible Value Packs21. Its FAQ returns unexpired codes after a full refund, conditional on the refund amount being no greater than the cancellation fee22. Those scopes differ; both statements remain recorded as a conflict.

Compare conditions without creating a ranking

Alphabetical order, a shorter cutoff or more filled fields says nothing about tour quality. We have not tested whether a support team responds promptly or whether a promised refund arrives on time. A complete policy page can still describe a product that does not suit your plans; an unknown field can simply mean the necessary detail is supplied elsewhere.

For choosing an experience before examining its booking conditions, use the local-experience finder and its source links. Keep the product identity and channel together as you compare. Do not attach a general platform rule to an operator listing merely because their names appear in the same search results.

The method explains the field definitions and conflict treatment. Our original observation data and compilation are CC BY 4.0; that licence does not grant rights to provider text, images or trademarks. The source ledger lists source links and observation dates.
